GPT-6 and Intelligent UI in ChatGPT: what changed and how to use it

OpenAI rolled GPT-6 with Intelligent UI into ChatGPT's Chat tab on Oct 7, 2026. Here's which model you get on each plan, and prompts that make use of it.

What changed

• On Oct 7, 2026, OpenAI started rolling out GPT-6 with Intelligent UI in the Chat tab. ChatGPT can now answer with interactive interfaces (visuals, diagrams, forms and small tools) as well as text.
• Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise got it first, with Free and Go from the next day. On Enterprise it depends on admin settings.
• Paid tiers run GPT-6 Sol and Free and Go run GPT-6 Luna. Both are tuned for everyday conversation.
• This changed only the Chat tab. OpenAI says the models behind Work and Codex didn't change in this release.

How to use it: three prompts to try

1. Learning:
   Copy

   Explain how compound interest works with an interactive example I can change: principal, rate and years.

   Why: asking for something you can change gets you a tool to play with instead of a paragraph.

2. Planning:
   Copy

   Build me a simple form to compare three phone plans by monthly cost, data and contract length.

   Why: you get a tool you can reuse in the same chat.

3. Check it:
   Copy

   List every number you used in that tool and where each came from.

   Why: the interactive layout makes an answer look polished, not correct. Check the inputs as usual.

What to expect: a visual or interactive answer when it suits the question, and plain text otherwise. Availability depends on your plan and the rollout reaching your account.
