Turn recipes into a grocery list with a bot
The highest-value 30 seconds in bot cooking: combining recipes into one list.
1. Paste recipes and your pantry
Combine these recipes into one grocery list.
- Add up duplicate ingredients (e.g., onions across recipes) into one line with total quantity.
- Group by aisle: produce, meat/fish, dairy, bakery, dry goods, canned, spices, frozen.
- Put anything in my pantry list under "check you have".
- Convert to package sizes a store sells (e.g., "1 bunch cilantro", "1 lb ground turkey").

"Rewrite the list with store-brand and seasonal swaps; flag where a swap changes the dish."
3. Shopping with an agent
Assistants with shopping tools (for example Grok Bot) can fill an online cart from the list. Review the cart and substitutions before you check out.
Where these facts come from
- FoodSafety.gov: Safe minimum internal temperatures
- USDA FSIS: Leftovers and food safety
- USDA FoodData Central: nutrient data to check a bot's numbers
- FDA: Food allergies
Checked Oct 29, 2026. Bots make arithmetic and nutrition mistakes. Spot-check numbers against FoodData Central and labels.
