What you'll learn

Two sides of one marketplace

Google Ads is for advertisers: you pay when someone clicks your ad. AdSense is for publishers: advertisers bid for ad space on your site and Google shares the revenue. Google says publishers receive 80% of AdSense for content revenue after the advertiser platform's fee (about 68% when the buyer uses Google Ads) [11].

Our real campaign for bottutorials.com

Step by step

  1. New campaign → create without a goal's guidance → choose Search.
  2. Name it clearly and pick results such as website visits; enter your site.
  3. Bidding: focus on clicks (Maximize clicks) and tick Set a maximum cost per click bid limit. Google notes a cap that's too low may keep the strategy from reaching its goal, and suggests giving it a few days or weeks [1].
  4. Settings: keep Search Network, turn off Display Network, target one country and language.
  5. Keywords: paste a phrase-match list ("keyword" in quotes) [7]. Check volumes in Keyword Planner [8].
  6. Ad: a responsive search ad takes 3–15 headlines (30 characters) and 2–4 descriptions (90 characters) [2].
  7. Budget: set a custom daily amount. Some days can spend more than the daily average, but the month is capped at the daily budget × the average days in a month [9].
  8. Review and publish, then let it learn.

Maximize clicks vs. Maximize conversions

Maximize clicks gets as many clicks as possible within budget [1]; it buys traffic, not results. Once conversion tracking is in place [3], you can test Maximize conversions. The easy route: mark the action as a key event in Google Analytics 4, link GA4 and Google Ads, and import it as a conversion [4].

How bots raise conversions

  1. Write 15 headline and 4 description variants for responsive search ads.
  2. Build keyword and negative keyword lists [6] (jobs, login, download…).
  3. Audit the landing page as a skeptical visitor: does it deliver the ad's promise in 5 seconds?
  4. Design A/B tests that change one thing at a time.
  5. Review the search terms report weekly [5]: flag waste, add negatives, spot new ad groups.
  6. Refresh tired ad copy every few weeks.
  7. Add a chat helper on the landing page to answer questions.
Prompt: Here is my landing page text and the ad that sends people there. Act as a skeptical first-time visitor. Does the page deliver what the ad promised in the first 5 seconds? List the 5 biggest reasons I'd leave, and rewrite the headline and button to match the ad.

The AdSense side (publishers)

In the video these screens are recreated demos with example data, not product screenshots.

  1. Sign up (you must be 18+, with your own original content that follows the program policies) [10][15].
  2. Connect your site: AdSense code snippet in the <head>, an ads.txt snippet, or a meta tag.
  3. Add ads.txt at your site root: google.com, pub-0000000000000000, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0. Google calls it not mandatory but highly recommended [12].
  4. Request review. When the site is Ready and ads.txt is Authorized, ads can appear within about an hour [12].
  5. Turn on Auto ads per site, choose formats and ad load, exclude pages [13]; or create manual ad units.
  6. Watch Reports (earnings, page RPM), Optimization, Brand safety blocking.
  7. Payments: in USD you're paid at a $100 balance; identity verification at $0 and address verification at $10 [14].

Honest money math

SideMath
Advertiser, $5/dayAt most about $152/month (5 × 30.4). At a $0.10 cap that's up to ~50 clicks/day only if you win enough auctions; a low cap often wins fewer.
Publisher, 1,000 views/mo≈ $2–$15/month
Publisher, 10,000 views/mo≈ $20–$150/month
Publisher, 100,000 views/mo≈ $200–$1,500/month

Publisher earnings ≈ page views ÷ 1,000 × page RPM. The $2–$15 page RPM range is our illustrative assumption, not a Google figure; real RPM varies widely by topic, country and season. Judge ads by engaged visits and conversions, not clicks.
