Troubleshooting

I ran out of AI uses.

Limits are monthly and depend on plan. Wait for the reset or use non-AI templates.

The image has gibberish text.

Generate the image without text, then add text with the normal text tool.

The answer cites a page that doesn't say that.

Treat the claim as unverified. Ask it to quote the exact sentence from that page, or say it isn't there. Then open the page yourself.

It forgot my earlier instructions.

Long sessions push early text out of context. Put standing instructions where Canva AI keeps them (Keep a Brand Kit and folders per project, so AI designs start with your colors and fonts.) and start fresh.

It agrees with everything I say.

Ask it to argue the other side and list the strongest evidence against your view, with sources.

Cost control

Canva Free includes up to 200 Standard or 20 Premium AI uses a month. Canva Pro is US$144 a year for one person and includes up to 200 Premium or 20 Ultra AI uses a month (canva.com/pricing text as shown in search results, Oct 30, 2026).

We couldn’t load the pricing page directly, so confirm prices in your region on canva.com/pricing before paying.

Monthly AI use limits depend on plan: Free up to 200 Standard or 20 Premium; Pro up to 200 Premium or 20 Ultra (partly verified).

Prompt library: bad vs good

Bad: help me

Good: Create an Instagram post announcing our bakery’s Saturday pumpkin bread sale, 8am–noon. Warm autumn colors, plenty of empty space for text, no fake logos.

Why: situation, task, format and limits.

Bad: research this

Good: Find the 5 most relevant official sources from the last 12 months on [topic]. For each: title, date, link, and one sentence it actually says.

Why: asks for dated, quotable, checkable sources.

Bad: make it better

Good: Rewrite this for a busy customer: max 100 words, one ask, no jargon. Then list what you cut.

Why: a reader, a length and an audit of changes.

Bad: should I do X?

Good: List the 3 strongest reasons for and against X for someone in [situation]. Mark which reasons depend on facts I should check.

Why: balanced, and separates facts from judgement.
